Security

  • Updated the Unity3D engine to address an important security vulnerability.

⚠️We strongly recommend updating all your Sound Show installations, including Sound Show Remote and Sound Show Mobile.

Project Saving & Backups

  • Ctrl+S to Save
You can now quickly save the current project with Ctrl+S.
  • Auto-Save
New option to automatically save your project.
    • When enabled in Main Options, Sound Show will save the project ~10 seconds after changes, once editing has paused.
  • Save Backups
New backup system that keeps previous versions of your project.
    • By default, 1 previous version is kept (configurable in Main Options).
    • Backups use a -prev suffix, for example: projectName-prev.ssp.
  • Overwrite Warning
If you try to create a new project using a name that already exists, Sound Show will now warn you before overwriting it.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • You can now navigate and select categories (tabs) using keyboard mappings (configuration in Options -> Keyboard)
  • Holding the + or - keys now continuously increases or decreases volume instead of requiring repeated taps.

Options Management

  • Export / Import Settings
You can now export your options to a .sso (Sound Show Options) file and import them later, on the same machine or another machine.
These actions are available at the bottom of the Main Options popup.
  • Restore Defaults (Fixed)
“Restore default values” now correctly resets all options to their factory defaults.

Help Category

  • Added a new Help category (question mark icon) next to Search in the Special Category panel.
  • Goal: make the first steps smoother for new users.
  • Includes quick links to resources like:
    • Getting started guide
    • YouTube channel
    • Articles / documentation
Clicking a button opens the link in your web browser.
  • For Pro users, the Help button can be hidden in the Special Category panel settings.

Volume Normalization

  • Per-Sound Normalized Volume
Each sound now has a new Normalized Volume field in its configuration popup.
    • This is an internal multiplier that affects how loud the sound actually plays.
    • This is now the recommended setting to use if a sound is too loud or too quiet.
    • The existing Volume setting is still available to set the starting volume for playback, which is useful when you want a specific start level, not global loudness correction.
  • Category-wide Normalize Action
In a category’s configuration popup, there’s a new Normalize action.
    • It analyzes all sounds in that category and adjusts their normalized volume so they play at a more consistent level.
